Enhancing the user experience

The redesign of the trigger spray was an opportunity to both maximize the purchasing power of the whole Reckitt Benckiser portfolio — and reduce costs. pi conducted a thorough audit of Reckitt’s purchasing of trigger sprays and identified not only the need for a coherent strategy, but discovered that triggers purchased all lacked an ergonomic feel. pi proceeded to design a trigger with soft curves for maximum comfort in the hand and then improved it dramatically in terms of its functionality so that it worked at any angle, even upside down, to respond to typical consumer cleaning behavior. The redesign thus produced a range of sprays that enhanced the user experience by improved aesthetics, ergonomics and functionality.
